But, amid the modern day surroundings, internet is the closest thing to god one(or atleast me) could possibly find. The metaphor goes like this: Internet is god, and we are the worshippers. Computing devices are the priests that connect us to the god. And anything we do online is an offering, including this blog post.
Different religions, different cultures associate different attributes with god. And the internet never fails to fit in into any of those. So, here a few points that substantiate this view point:
- Internet is Omnipresent
- Internet helps those who help themselves
- Internet is Omniscient
- Internet rewards good, discourages bad
- Internet is Incorporeal
The internet is present everywhere. Agreed that there are areas with poor connectivity, yet it has the potential to be everywhere. If not through cables or cellular network, then through satellites.
Internet is a boon for the people who believe in "Do It Yourself". Communities like iFixit are Linus Tech Tips a testimony to this fact. They provide a platform for the DIY enthusiasts to come together, help and get helped.
The internet is ocean of knowledge. Though tech giants use creepy ways to acquire personal information, at the end of the day google knows facts about you which even your mother doesn't. And you can't deny it.
Good work is always appreciated by the fellow netizens on internet. Many talented people who would not be able to showcase their talent have come up and continue to astonish us, all thanks to the internet. At the same time, bad work is always criticised. For instance, the whole world expresses anger towards the students(JNU issue) who raised anti national slogans or distasteful artists be it singers(Baba Seagull, Keher Shah), film-makers(Paajid Khan) or anybody else.
God is not composed of matter. God has no body or parts, and is immaterial. And so is the internet! Yes, we do see routers, network switches, wires and all those complicated equipment that are used by ISPs which are essential. But that is not the internet. Internet is a global system of interconnected networks and has no form. Just as god appears in various forms according to devotees' imagination, Internet also takes the form of the device and software used to access it. Much like how the layout of this blog varies when vied on different browsers on different devices with different screen sizes.
Great post I like it very much keep up the good work. https://gotheglobals.com/how-to-slap-someone-through-the-internet/
